    Description

Antique BUFFET CRAMPON & CIE A PARIS Clarinet Eb ALBERT SYSTEM C. Fischer. Before I begin with the description, let me say that I know very little at all about these old instruments and all that you will read about each one is what I have gleaned through researching them on the net. So, please….besides reading my description(s), look at the pics as they are an important part of the description. This is the first of 3 antique clarinets that I will be listing this evening. This is a Buffet Crampon & Cie, A Paris, 2 ring, Eb clarinet. All wood. The upper section is stamped, S BREVETTES S.G.D.G. H (High Pitch) MADE IN FRANCE. Lower section is stamped, BUFFET Crampon & Cie A PARIS (all in the oval logo) and also has, what I believe to be, a serial number stamped, J591, which would date the instrument to 1895. Bell is stamped, BUFFET Crampon & Cie A PARIS, with C. FISCHER NEW-YORK, the importer of Buffets from around 1872 through the turn of the century. The barrel is also stamped with the same oval logo and data. The mouthpiece is a hard rubber type with the same Buffett oval logo. Condition: The instrument is in overall excellent condition with no cracks or chips and the keys all function as they should with no sticking and no missing springs. The open holes are clean and with proper diameters, not having been reamed to larger holes through cleaning, etc. over the years. Of course, it should have a thorough servicing with new pads and corks to bring it up to optimal playability but, I will leave that to the winning bidder.  Measurements: Bell to barrel: 16 1/2". Bell to mouthpiece: 18 7/8". If anybody sees that I have made a mistake, please, drop me a note so that I can revise my description accordingly. Since I am not familiar with just exactly what you players/collectors are interested in (or looking for), nor do I have a decent knowledge of what the value might ultimately be, I am starting all three instruments with reasonably low starting bids. NOTE: None of the three instruments being listed this evening comes with a case but, they will be carefully packaged against damage during shipping. All questions are welcomed. Have fun bidding!

Most of the items that I sell here are vintage, antique,  and/or used and may sometimes have signs of wear or age. I describe all items as best as I can so that you have an accurate description of the item to help you make the decision as to bid or not and, of course, how much you might wish to bid. I ask you, the bidder, to ask any and all question about the item BEFORE you bid.
This is an online auction site....not a retail store and, I run ONLY AUCTIONS on my ebay page. Therefore, as in any offline auction house, you have the opportunity to observe the item, ask questions and then bid accordingly. If you are the high bidder of the item at the time the auction ends, you have purchased the item and, as soon as payment is made, you will be the new owner. I DO NOT give refunds, ordinarily, unless I have made a drastic mistake in the listing or missed a major flaw which I inadvertantly failed to include in the item description. If this happens, I am always ready to work with the winning bidder to fully resolve the issue. This might include full refund upon return in like condition the item purchased. However, I don't suffer scam artists, rudeness, or anybody with common, everyday buyer's remorse.
PAYMENT IS DUE WITHIN THREE (3) DAYS of the end of the auction. I accept PAYPAL ONLY. Responsibility to pay within the three days is the bidder's. Failure to pay within the alloted time will result in issuance of a Non-Paying Bidder Alert to the appropriate ebay department and, the item will be re-listed. If you have reasonable extenuating circumstances which might cause you delay in payment, please, contact me.
Shipping is normally done via USPS Priority; for large, heavy, or awkward items, Fedex Ground can be used. Delivery Confirmation is used on ALL items. Insurance is included, at my expense, for items over 0.00. Shipping is done within 48 hours of received Paypal payment. Postal holidays and/or weekends might extend the time of shipping by a day or so. I always do my best to get it to you pronto!
I reserve the right to cancel bidders who have few transactions and/or negative feedback.
