German Army Officers Pionier Shoulder Boards (Removable) with Tailor's Packet

Description

This is a set of German Army WM Officers Pionier Shoulder Boards (Removable) with Original Tailor's Packet (WM Paar Schulterstucke fur einen Leutnant Pioniere mit Schneiderpaket). This is a fine quality set of Pioneer Leutnant or Lieutenant's shoulder boards. They are constructed of four rows of silver twisted thread in a U-shaped Russian braided pattern, with a black wool backing (signifying Pioneer), with a buttonhole and matching black tongue for uniform attachment. They measure 36 mm (w) by 104 mm (h), unused with no tags, and in better than very fine condition. Included is also the original tailor's paper packet which is inscribed "Herman Schmuck & Cie., WEISSENBURG (BAYERN), Seit 1859." I purchased it in 2007 from a private collector in Germany.
