Description
This is a rare, vintage unibody metal clarinet produced by Penzel Meuller between 1920-1939 (up until the beginning of WWII).The model is American Gloritone and has a model stamp of 5547 just above the bell on the back (shown in photos).
The clarinet was oringally aquired without a case and only has a mouthpeice.
The clarinet will need to have all pads replaced and a couple of springs before being able to play extensively. I does play, but has mulitple air leaks around degraded/missing pads and will not hit certain notes due to broking/missing springs on a couple of keys. The corking around the barrel that holds the mouthpeice will also need to be replaced due to wear/age.
Due to wear on the mouthpeace, it is highly suggested to also be replaced.
This is a rare instrament, as American Gloritone was not easy to find, with playable clarinets are running around ,500
