WW II German Aviation Sommer Kanalhosen - SUMMER TROPICAL CHANNEL PANTS - SUPERB

Description

You are bidding on an AMAZING used example of WW2 German Luftwaffe Sommer Fliegerhosen Kannalzug (Summer / Tropical Channel Pants), as used by many German fighter pilots!
Development of protective flight uniforms began during WW1, and continued into WW2.
What developed were a 1-piece flight suit (2 for winter 1 for summer), which in 1936 developed into an electrically heated flight suit.
This suit consisted of a one-piece jacket/pant combination with separate gloves and socks.
The flight suits contained built-in insulated heating elements which connected directly to the aircraft’s power supply.
The early version was intended for cold weather flight, and was worn over the standard uniform.
In July 1940, new regulations determined a 2-piece flight suit was to be manufactured.
The 2-piece suit consisted of a separate jacket and pants, and was commonly referred to as the “channel pant”.
Manufactured in a tan cotton, this RARE pair of pants is in SUPERB condition for it’s age!
Though it does show some very slight marks (from storage), it is in almost PERFECT, unissued condition, with vibrant colors throughout!
The snaps are of PRYM manufacture, and the zippers are made by ZIPP and Ri-Ri.
All zippers are functional, and there is NO corrosion anywhere on the steel parts!  Has a lightweight lining that
is 100% intact with no tears or damage.
It also retains all the original white straps and belts, as well as the VERY RARE size stamp and RBn Number!
The size is a 1a, so it should fit anyone with a small / medium build.
The BONUS is that is still retains two original lanyards (worth 0 each)!  There is one tiny hole, and a small tear from storage (see photo), bur otherwise are AMAZING!
EASILY the nicest I have owned of this type, in overall  SUPERB condition.  Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
